NORTH TONAWANDA – Niagara County Legislator Richard L. Andres Jr., a first-term Republican, announced his candidacy for re-election in the 8th District Wednesday.
Andres, 35, was chairman of the North Tonawanda Common Council before winning the county seat two years ago.
“North Tonawanda has a voice in county government, and I am working with my fellow legislators to make sure NT is not forgotten in county hall.” Andres said, claiming that in his first term he has been able to obtain nearly $500,000 for projects and groups in the city.
“The cultural and community organizations in this city have a friend on the Legislature. We have been able to support nearly a dozen much-needed projects so far,” Andres said. “I love this city and I humbly ask the voters to allow me to continue to fight for them.”
