Cuomo, Cardinal Dolan in Buffalo to push tax credits for schools

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo and Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan will visit Eggertsville Tuesday as part of a cross-state tour expected to dwell on a tax credit proposal for those attending private schools.

Cuomo and the archbishop of New York will join Buffalo Bishop Richard J. Malone at the Eggertsville Youth and Community Center at 1 p.m. Cuomo and Dolan are also slated to address the same topic earlier in the day in Westbury, L.I.

Tax credits for parents of families with children in private schools has long been a major priority of the New York State Catholic Conference that represents all of the state’s bishops. So far, however, the measure has not received approval from the Legislature.
