An elderly pedestrian was seriously injured when she was struck by a car just before noon Friday in Williamsville, Amherst Police Capt. Patrick McKenna of the Accident Investigation Unit said.
Lorraine Hebler, 85, of Williamsville was crossing South Cayuga Road just south of Main Street when she was struck by a 2012 Jeep. The Jeep was making a left turn to go north on Cayuga and struck Hebler, who was crossing Cayuga from east to west, police said.
The driver of the Jeep was identified as Marguerite L. Miller, 54, of Williamsville.
Hebler was taken to Erie County Medical Center to be treated for a head injury. She was listed in serious condition.
Senior Investigator Scott Lawida is continuing the investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the accident is asked to call Amherst Police at 689-1311.
