Buffalo man, Lockport woman admit to dealing cocaine

LOCKPORT – Dwight M. Hayes Jr., 30, of Kensington Avenue, Buffalo, pleaded guilty Friday to selling crack cocaine to a Niagara County Drug Task Force agent in North Tonawanda Sept. 30.

State Supreme Court Justice Richard C. Kloch Sr. admitted Hayes to the judicial diversion program of court-supervised drug treatment. He faces up to nine years in prison if he washes out of treatment, but will be rewarded with a misdemeanor plea and a nonjail sentence if he succeeds.

The same plea bargain was accepted by Roxanne Johnson, 44, of Phelps Street, Lockport, during an appearance before Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon. Johnson made three crack cocaine sales to a police informant in the City of Lockport last June. Johnson and Hayes both admitted to third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance.
