A Buffalo woman admitted this week to filing false tax returns three years in a row.
Malisha Mobley, 30, pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Richard J. Arcara to conspiracy to defraud the government.
Mobley obtained fraudulent W-2 forms from an individual and used the forms to file false federal and state returns for 2011, 2012 and 2014, Assistant U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross said.
Ross said Mobley also recruited two other people who also used the same fake W-2s to file false returns for 2012.
The Internal Revenue Service and New York State Department of Taxation and Finance estimate their loss at $37,193.
