Work on the project to replace the Elmwood Avenue bridge over the Scajaquada Expressway (Route 198) will start next week, the state Department of Transportation reports.
Beginning Monday, there will be occasional lane closures on Elmwood and on the westbound Scajaquada near the interchange to start setting up the work zone, transportation officials say.
Long-term lane and ramp closures at the Elmwood-Scajaquada interchange are scheduled to begin during the week of June 1.
A detour also will be constructed for the Scajaquada Bike Path beneath the Elmwood Avenue bridge. Traffic on the bike path will be diverted to Nottingham Terrace.
