A car dealership combined with gold buying business, a new cellular tower in an area with three towers in nearby proximity and plans for a used car deadlership and repair shop.
That smorgasboard all is on the village Planning Board’s agenda for 7 p.m. Thursday.
The village is facing a proposal for a new 150-foot cellular tower by UpState Power on behalf of Blue Wireless at 2938 Walden Ave., where the Advantage Self-Storage Facility is located. Buf-515 Advantage Storage is the applicant and the property owner is Advantage US Holdings III LLC.
The request may be a tough “sell” since three cell towers are located in that immediate area.
The Planning Board meets in the Municipal Building, 85 Manitou St.
Like many other municipalities, the village has a Telecommunications Facility Code in place stipulating that new proposals first try to see if they can fit on existing towers.
Upstate Cellular Network, doing business as Verizon, is pitching an exterior wireless rooftop/wall mounted equipment cabinet microcell cantenna that provides 4G network access. It is proposed for 2475 George Urban Blvd., formerly the site of the old Quebecor Arcada Graphics. The south end of the building contains business office space.
Also on tap for the Planning Board Thursday is a request by Depew One Stop Auto Sales at 4525 Broadway, site of the former TransitTowne Resale Center, to operate a used car dealership and repair shop on the site.
Transit Auto Center also is proposing to renovate about 600 square feet of space in its existing building to open a second Buffalo Gold Rush shop, a gold purchasing company, alongside its existing car show room.
