Kenmore police say drivers arrested Friday were impaired by drugs

Two men were accused of driving while impaired by drugs during separate stops in Kenmore over the weekend, police said Saturday.

Officer Justin Breitnauer responded at 4:45 p.m. Friday to the report of a reckless driver on Delaware Avenue. Keith Rahaim, 24, of South Park Avenue, Lackawanna, was charged with driving with ability impaired by drugs, criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal possession of heroin, police said.

At about 6:30 p.m. Friday, Officer Jared Pierce responded to a one-car crash on Military Road, where he arrested Michael Cortes, 26, of Longfellow Court of the Town of Tonawanda. Cortes was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, police said.
