Former University at Buffalo quarterback Drew Willy apparently has found a home in Canada.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced that Willy’s contract had been extended through the 2017 season. Willy’s previous deal would have expired after the upcoming season had been completed.
Willy started 17 of 18 games for the Blue Bombers and was named the team’s most valuable player. The quarterback was third in the Canadian Football League in passing yardage with 3,769 and he threw 14 touchdown passes. Winnipeg went 7-11 last season.
