Three Buffalo teenage boys were taken into custody for questioning by State Police and Buffalo police officers after the stolen car they were in flipped over and landed on its roof at about 5:30 p.m. Friday at Broadway and Hirschbeck Street.
The teens’ car sped away when a trooper attempted to flag it down. The teen driver turned too widely while making a left turn off Broadway onto Hirschbeck, struck a guard wire and the car flipped over onto its roof, according to State Police Public Information Officer Victor Morales.
A Rural/Metro Medical Services ambulance crew at the scene reported that none of the boys was injured despite the fact that none of them was wearing a seatbelt. Troopers confirmed the car had been stolen recently in Amherst.
The badly damaged car was loaded on a tow vehicle and removed from the intersection. Morales said the investigation is continuing and charges are pending.
