Two plead guilty in Falls store robbery

LOCKPORT – Two 20-year-old men who robbed a 7-Eleven store in Niagara Falls accepted a plea deal Thursday.

Jonathan J. Singleteary of 85th Street, Niagara Falls, and Jorge L. Flecha of Interpark Avenue, Buffalo, admitted to reduced charges of attempted second-degree robbery. Niagara County Judge Matthew J. Murphy III said he will sentence them to no more than four years in prison and three years of post-release supervision when they return to court June 25.

Assistant District Attorney Claudette S. Caldwell said the men, one of them armed with a gun, robbed the clerk in the store at 15th Street and Pine Avenue in the early hours of Dec. 30.

The crime was captured on surveillance video, and police caught Singleteary and Flecha, who were wearing black-and-red clothing like that worn by the robbers in the video, 20 minutes after the crime, three blocks from the store.
