New York State will hold a Minority- and Women-Owned Business Enterprise Opportunities Expo Friday.
The event hopes to connect MWBE-certified firms with contractors and state agencies to leverage the $1 billion of contracting opportunities within New York State. There will be workshops, panel discussions, business development resources and government procurement training.
Among those in attendance will be Howard Zemsky, president and CEO of Empire State Development; Satish Tripathi, president of University at Buffalo; Lourdes Zapata, executive director of the Division of Minority and Women’s Business Development; Crystal Peoples-Stokes of New York State Assembly, as well as representatives from the Small Business Administration, the Entrepreneurial Assistance Program, the New York Minority Supply Development Council, Governor Cuomo’s office and the Cattaraugus County Procurement Technical Assistance Center.
The event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at the University at Buffalo’s Educational Opportunity Center, 555 Ellicott St.
