Federal authorities are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever threw Molotov cocktails at the Amherst Police Station on April 16.
The New York Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives announced the reward Thursday.
“ATF, along with our law enforcement partners will utilize all of the resources available to us to ensure that the people responsible for this cowardly act will be expeditiously brought to justice,” said Delano A. Reid, special agent in charge of the ATF New York Field Division.
Amherst Police Detective Lt. Richard S. Walter said, “The Amherst Police Department has been working in conjunction with the ATF since this incident occurred and we have updated them as this investigation has been ongoing. Some progress has been made but we need the public’s help. We are hoping this reward money will help develop more information.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the ATF Buffalo Field Office at 853-5070 or via email to ATFTips@atf.gov or the Amherst Police Department at 689-1337 or email@example.com.
All information will be treated confidentially and callers will remain anonymous if requested, authorities said.
