Buffalo School Board members are sure to get an earful from community groups and parent leaders demanding to be part of the hiring process before a new superintendent is named. The groups start rallying at 4:30 p.m. at the site of tonight's board meeting, which convenes at 5:30 p.m. at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, 459 Masten Ave.
Despite the public attention being given to the current superintendent selection process, there are no plans to name a new superintendent at tonight's meeting, though there will likely be some public commentary on the matter.
We will be covering this meeting live. However, The News no longer has access to the live blog software we used to use and which many of you are familiar with. So instead, I will be using my Twitter handle @DeidreWilliamsB to live tweet this meeting. You do not need to have a Twitter account to follow my live tweets. Those tweets will all be collected and published below so anyone can follow along. As you can see, all tweets by myself and my fellow education reporter colleagues automatically show up in this space.
Anyone who does follow me on Twitter can reply to my tweets as the meeting runs, and I'll do my best to retweet/republish the ones worth sharing. The Buffalo News is in the process of creating a better platform for live meeting coverage so please be patient during this transition. All live tweets from the meeting will be saved and stored in this same space after the meeting ends.
