Suspects who fled traffic stop found hiding near Canisius College

Two men found hiding in bushes near Canisius College early Tuesday were wanted after a sport utility vehicle fled a traffic stop by Buffalo police.

According to a Northeast District police report, the vehicle fled a traffic stop at East Delavan Avenue and Moselle Street shortly after 4 a.m.

With police in pursuit, the SUV, carrying three men, stopped on Eastwood Place and its occupants fled.

Canisius College Public Safety officers found Nico Kearney, 25, and Darvis Kearney, 21, hiding in the bushes near the quad entrance of Old Main and took them into custody. They are facing misdemeanor counts of trespass and obstructing governmental administration, and a violation charge of unlawful possession of marijuana. The third suspect remains at large.

Buffalo police reported some marijuana was recovered from the center console of the SUV, which was impounded.
