Buffalo motorist charged with possessing narcotics and antidote

A motorist pulled over on Grand Island for a traffic violation was under the influence of drugs and had various controlled substances in her possession, State Police reported.

Edith K. Isaacs, 60, of Buffalo, was pulled over on the Niagara Thruway early Monday for an unspecified violation. She was found in possession of anxiety and pain medication, and also had a pill used to reverse the effects of other narcotics, police said.

Isaacs, who police said refused to submit to a breath test or have blood drawn, was charged with a felony count of driving while intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, and three misdemeanor counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Following arraignment in Grand Island Town Court, she was ordered held without bail in the Erie County Holding Center.
