LOCKPORT – The Western New York Land Conservancy is hosting a wildflower hike from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the Niagara Escarpment Preserve, a 36-acre property on Leete Road in the Town of Lockport.
The hike will be led by Ed Fuchs and Joanne Schlegel, past presidents of the Niagara Frontier Botanical Society, and Erin Redding. an environmental scientist with Gomez and Sullivan Engineers.
Attendees will be able to see several unique woodland plants as they walk through the preserve’s mature hardwood forests.
The hike is free and open to the public, but space is limited and attendees must register in advance by calling the Land Conservancy at 687-1225, or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. The hike is appropriate for people of all ages and will not be strenuous. The Land Conservancy will share directions and parking instructions with everyone who registers for the event.
