Where we live: West Seneca

West Seneca

Michael LaMarca, a graduate of West Seneca East Senior High School, is among 12 seminary and divinity school students chosen to participate in a program in professional ethics for future clergy.

A third-year seminarian at Christ the King Seminary in East Aurora, LaMarca was chosen by Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics. During the 12-day program, fellows participate in seminars run by leading scholars who serve as FASPE faculty, and attend lectures with a range of guest speakers.

The program integrates historical, cultural, philosophical and literary sources; survivor testimony; and workshops in Berlin, Auschwitz and Krakow.

This week:

• The town’s Environmental Commission meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Burchfield Nature & Art Center, 2201 Union Road.
