The Wales Town Board hosts a public hearing on a moratorium banning the use of sewage sludge at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Community Center, 12345 Big Tree Road.
A committee assembled by the Town Council spent several months researching biosolids and revised a draft of the moratorium several times, councilman Michael Simon said last month.
That draft has been molded into the proposed local law that will be presented to the public Tuesday.
The committee and town board members visited a biosolid facility in West Seneca operated by Quasar Energy Group and was expected to also tour a local water treatment facility to learn more about the raw materials supplied to Quasar
The public hearing will be followed by a town board work session.
