Governor should focus on New York, not Cuba
I was rather excited upon immediately hearing that Gov. Andrew Cuomo was going to Cuba on an economic development tour. For far too long, the Southern Tier of New York State has been neglected and abused – from being overtaxed to the denial of landowners’ mineral rights.
Finally, I thought, the governor has taken notice and is going to improve the lives of hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers.
But then I learned that the governor was going to Cuba, the country, and not Cuba, the town. Thanks, governor. I’m sure that the cigars will be a huge help in Albany.
