The cause of the fire Friday afternoon at a Glenwood Avenue house remains under investigation, while the woman suspected of starting the fire remained in critical condition Saturday evening.
Police said the 52-year-old woman was taken from the fire Saturday afternoon. She was combative, and broke windows, causing the fire to spread inside the home, according to Fire Commissioner Garnell W. Whitfield Jr. Two firefighters suffered burns and one was treated for smoke inhalation, and all were released from Erie County Medical Center.
The fire was reported shortly after 1 p.m. in the one-story house. Whitfield said the cause of the fire remains under investigation.
