Cars broken into at Niagara Falls hotel lot

NIAGARA FALLS – Four vehicles in the parking lot of The Giacomo, a boutique hotel on First Street, were broken into between about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Niagara Falls Police reports.

In each case, a window was smashed to gain entry. A $10,000 piece of medical equipment was taken from one vehicle, which also had its center console damaged. Camera equipment valued at $2,400 was taken from another. The other two vehicles had cash taken from them, according to the reports.

A Giacomo representative told police one of the security gates to the parking lot was left open that night because of high winds.
