Man appeared to be under the influence when stopped at the border

LEWISTON – Inspection got a bit more intense when a Pennsylvania man rolled up to the border and appeared to be under the influence of an unknown drug late last week.

Adrian Dumitrasc, 47,of Pittsburgh, was stopped Saturday at the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge and charged by New York State Police with driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle while impaired and driving while ability impaired by drugs and alcohol. He was arraigned in the Town of Lewiston and remanded to Niagara County Jail on $1,000 bail.

Troopers were called to the bridge to evaluate Dumitrasc when he came though inspection, and appeared to be impaired.
