The Finance and Operations Committee will receive updates on the 2015-16 budget proposal as school leaders look for places to trim approximately $10 million from the $829 million spending plan. The budget reflects a $20.5 million increase in state aid, provided the district completes revised teacher evaluation plans by November.
The committee will meet from 5 to 7 p.m. in Room 801 in City Hall, followed by the Executive Affairs Committee meeting until 9 p.m.
A discussion about the district's search for a deputy superintendent may come up during the Executive Affairs Committee meeting.
We will be covering this meeting live. However, The News no longer has access to the live blog software we used to use and which many of you are familiar with. So instead, I will be using my Twitter handle @DeidreWilliamsB to live tweet this meeting. You do not need to have a Twitter account to follow my live tweets. Those tweets will all be collected and published below so anyone can follow along. As you can see, all tweets by myself and my fellow education reporter colleagues automatically show up in this space.
Anyone who does follow me on Twitter can reply to my tweets as the meeting runs, and I'll do my best to retweet/republish the ones worth sharing. The Buffalo News is in the process of creating a better platform for live meeting coverage so please be patient during this transition. All live tweets from the meeting will be saved and stored in this same space after the meeting ends.
