The Bach Children’s Chorus of Toronto, formed in 1987, has an impressive reputation. The group has released six solo CDs and can be heard on several soundtracks and a video by the Canadian Brass. Though the choir takes its name from Johann Sebastian Bach, its repertoire stretches from its distinguished namesake on through the classics and up to present-day pop numbers, such as Stephen Moccio’s “I Believe,” the anthem heard during the Vancouver 2010 Olympics.
At 7 p.m. Saturday, a touring ensemble, made up of 28 young women from the choir who are mostly teenagers, are coming to town to perform in Christ United Methodist Church (50 Saratoga Road, Amherst).
Admission is free, though donations are welcome. For information, call 839-2460.
