We'll find out at 8 p.m. Tuesday just how much national attention Rex Ryan will bring to the Buffalo Bills.
That's when the NFL schedule will be released, both on the NFL Network and nfl.com.
Ryan, the Bills' bombastic new coach, has brought a level of national media attention that is not usually present around Western New York -- as evidenced by his recent feature story in Sports Illustrated.
The Bills have also been one of the most active teams in the offseason, starting with their acquisition of running back LeSean McCoy.
All those moves have led many of the team's fans to speculate on how many prime-time games the Bills may get this season (in addition to each team's mandatory appearance in a Thursday night game).
As a refresher, here are the Bills' opponents in 2015:
- HOME: New England, Miami, New York Jets, Houston, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Dallas, New York Giants.
- AWAY: New England, Miami, New York Jets, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Washington.
The Bills' game against Jacksonville will be played in London at 9:30 a.m. Oct. 25, which is Week Seven of the NFL season. It will be streamed online.
Trying to guess the rest of the Bills' schedule is pretty tough -- the team's official website if offering a $100,000 prize for picking every game correctly, or season tickets for the person who gets the most right -- but here is one crack at it.*
Week One: vs. Miami. Getting the Dolphins early in the season can be a disappointment for some who would rather see them here in the winter months, but the atmosphere for this one will be absolutely raucous.
Week Two: @ New York Jets (Monday Night Football). Rex Ryan returns to the Big Apple. That's a made-for-TV special waiting to happen. The Bills haven't appeared on Monday Night Football since 2009.
Week Three: vs. Houston. A rematch of last season's "J.J. Watt pick-six" game, this one might again go a long way toward determining the AFC wild-card race.
Week Four: @ Washington. Yawn.
Week Five: vs. New England. An early-season meeting with the Patriots promises to be one of the most-hyped games of the week, especially if the Bills get off to a good start.
Week Six: vs. Indianapolis: Back-to-back weeks against expected playoff contenders should teach us a lot about the Bills before they head overseas.
Week Seven: @ Jacksonville (in London). Think Mario Williams and Co. will enjoy playing an offensive line coached by Doug Marrone?
Week Eight: BYE
Week Nine: vs. Cincinnati: Bills get their front-loaded schedule with five of the first eight games being played in Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Week 10: @ Miami. Early November is a perfect time for a road trip to South Florida.
Week 11: @ Philadelphia (Thursday Night Football): McCoy against Kiko Alonso will be fascinating.
Week 12: vs. New York Giants. Last time the Giants came to Buffalo late in the season the goal posts almost blew over it was so windy. It shouldn't be quite as bad this time.
Week 13: @ Tennessee. Will Marcus Mariota or James Winston be starting for the Titans?
Week 14: vs. Dallas. Late-season game could have flex appeal to NBC if both teams are in the race.
Week 15: @ New England: Ditto for this one.
Week 16: @ Kansas City. Bills and Chiefs should just be placed in the same division at this point. This will be the eighth straight season they've played.
Week 17: vs. New York Jets. Bills fans on Twitter have already started saying the Jets will have a chance in this one -- because Buffalo will be resting its starters. This slot on the schedule has been reported by nj.com.
