The Made in America Store will open its fifth location at Walden Galleria Saturday.
The store, which exclusively sells products made 100 percent in the United States, will be located on the lower level near Sears.
Owner Mark Andol said shoppers have urged him to open a store at the Galleria for years. Locating there lets him “sell to even more Canadians than we currently serve in our other locations,” because of the mall’s high rate of Canadian consumer traffic.
Andol started the retail concept as a way to support American manufacturing, jobs and small business owners. He made the move when his Elma company, General Welding and Fabricating, lost a multi-million-dollar manufacturing contract to a company in China and was forced to close two plants, furloughing half its workers. The first store on Maple Road in Elma opened in 2010, followed by other locations at the Eastern Hills and McKinley Malls, and in the One Niagara tourist welcome center in Niagara Falls. The store also sells products online.
The original Elma location has been featured by media outlets around the world and attracts tour buses from around the country.
