Jamestown student jailed after two staff members are attacked

JAMESTOWN – One 16-year-old student at the Jamestown Public School Tech Academy was being held Tuesday in the Chautauqua County Jail in Mayville and another 16-year-old student was being sought for his alleged role in attacks on two school staff members, Jamestown Police reported Tuesday night.

According to police, a call for help came from the school at 200 E.4th Street about 12:30 p.m. Monday. Officers found one staff member had been punched in the face repeatedly and struck on the head with a metal clock torn off a wall. A second staff member was struck in the face repeatedly by the two 16-year-olds, police said.

One of the suspects was taken into custody and charged with a felony count of second-degree assault and jailed. The other student fled and was the subject of a police search.
