JAMESTOWN – Local, state and federal authorities searched a Barrows Street home early Monday and arrested two people in an ongoing investigation into heroin trafficking.
City police said members of their Special Weapons and Tactics team helped execute a search warrant at 5:45 a.m. at 150 Barrows St., where large quantities of heroin – some of which was packaged for sale – and cash were seized.
Teresa L. Lopez, 50, and Eduardo R. Rodriguez, 49, were charged with felony counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance, as well as a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. A young child also was living at that location, police said.
The raid also was conducted by investigators from the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force, the State Police Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration.
More charges are expected, police said. Lopez and Rodriguez are in the city jail, awaiting arraignment.
Anyone with information about illegal drug activity in the Jamestown area is asked to call the task force’s anonymous tip line at 483-8477. All calls are kept confidential.
