Theft of a loaded dump truck nets thieves an extra pay load

NIAGARA FALLS – Thieves made off with a construction dump truck loaded with copper as it was parked in the 400 block of 75th Street on Sunday afternoon.

The owner of B&T Construction told police an employee took one of the trucks home with permission and the truck was stolen while it was parked on the street in front of his house at 1:25 p.m. Sunday. The $10,000 truck was filled with $2,000 worth of copper piping from a recent job.

The 1995 dump truck’s key cannot be taken out of the ignition and the doors were unlocked, according to the owner.

A witness saw a white male, with brown hair, wearing sunglasses and a white T-shirt jump into the vehicle and drive away. A passenger was also seen in the vehicle.
