Nursing home owner charged with bankruptcy fraud

A federal grand jury has indicted a former Amherst nursing home owner on a charge of bankruptcy fraud.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Elizabeth R. Moellering said the defendant, Marc Korn, 58, made false statements about the ownership of safe deposit boxes while under oath during a bankruptcy proceeding. The indictment also claims Korn concealed assets from his creditors.

Korn was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeremiah J. McCarthy and released with conditions. The new charge is in addition to wire and bank fraud charges facing Korn, who is scheduled to go on trial next month.
