Hang on Buffalo: your Hero is coming.
The first American outlet of Canadian premium hamburger chain Hero Burger had its construction delayed by permitting issues. Now work is back on track at the restaurant, said owner Adam Sumlin.
Drywall work and painting was under way last week at the store, 976 Elmwood Ave., the former Zetti’s Pizza at the corner of Bidwell Parkway. Then it'll be time to install kitchen equipment. “We are trying to get it open by next month, aiming to be open by the end of May,” said Sumlin, who is opening the place with Corey Granberry. It took longer than the partners expected to obtain building permits, he said.
“We want to really please this community, and make sure everything will be right,” Sumlin said. “I know the food will be excellent.”
