LOCKPORT – A Buffalo man who took part in the theft of jewelry Dec. 23, 2013, from the KMart store in the Town of Niagara was sentenced to time served Monday by Niagara County Judge Sara Sheldon.
Lonnie A. Horton, 43, of Broadway, had pleaded guilty to petit larceny along with two women: Christina M. Allein, 32, of Tonawanda Creek Road, Amherst, and Corrine M. Colby, 31, of Tonawanda Street, Buffalo. Allein is serving three years’ probation, while Colby is awaiting sentencing.
All of the roughly $2,500 worth of jewelry was recovered. Assistant Public Defender Matthew P. Pynn said Horton served four or five months in jail before being released and entering drug treatment.
Assistant District Attorney Kevin D. Canali said he debriefed Horton after his guilty plea, and he revealed the three suspects had checked out several area KMarts that day and attempted the theft on their second visit to the Town of Niagara store.
