Town Clerk Johanna M. Coleman has issued a reminder to residents of the town regarding yard sale permits. Permits must be obtained at least 10 days before a sale and the application must be completed before a permit is granted and filed with the Town Clerk’s office at 21 Central Ave.

Residents are allowed two yard sales a year, 30 days apart. Permits are only valid for three consecutive days. The permit should be posted in a prominent location on the property where the sale is being held.

The clerk’s office hours at Town Hall are 9 to 5 Monday through Friday.

This week:

• The Town Board will learn Monday about a site plan for Keysa Park improvements and the James Metz memorial at the park in remembrance of the Lancaster teen who died in a plane crash last fall. The teen’s younger brother has been raising money to help refurbish the deteriorating basketball courts at the town-owned park.

The board meets at 6:15 p.m. in a special session with the Planning Baord to conduct a required environmental review of the site plan. The boards meet in Town Hall, 21 Central Ave. The Town Baord then meets in a work session, followed by its regular meeting at 7 p.m.

• The School Board meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a regular session, when it is expected to adopt its 2015-16 budget proposal. The board is meeting in the High School auditorium, 1 Forton Drive.

An informal Meet the Candidates’ Night is planned for 6 to 7 p.m. May 11 at the High School auditorium, with a budget public hearing following and regular board session beginning at 7 p.m. Voting for the school budget, two board seats and a $57.3 million capital project will be held from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. in the High School’s gymnasium.

• St. Mary’s High School will hold its annual Friends & Family Fiesta, an event for prospective students and their families, from 4 to 7 p.m. on May 5. Visitors will have the opportunity to meet with present students, faculty, coaches and administrators and to tour the school and its facilities, along with displays of various classes, clubs and organizations.

To RSVP for the event or for more information about the fiesta or school, contact Beck O’Connor, St. Mary’s enrollment director, at 683-4824, ext. 237, or e-mail at boconnor@smhlancers.org.
