The Hamburg Public Library will reopen April 27, after being closed since December for the construction of a 6,000 square-foot addition.

The Lake Shore Public Library will continue its extended hours until Wednesday. Starting Thursday, hours for the week will be 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday; closed Wednesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday; 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Lake Shore Library also will be open from noon to 5 p.m. April 26.

The Hamburg Library schedule will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday; 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday; 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday and Saturday; 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Also, Hamburg Town Board members promoted Jeffrey Lavelle, a 14-year veteran of the Hamburg town Police Department, to lieutenant Monday. His family surrounded him in the Town Board chamber as Police Chief Gregory Wickett pinned the lieutenant badge on him.

This week:

• The Hamburg Village Board meets at 5:30 p.m. Monday in a work session, followed by a regular meeting at 7 p.m. in Village Hall, 100 Main St.

• The Hamburg Village Architectural Review Committee meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Village Hall.

• The Frontier Central School Board meets at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria of Cloverbank Elementary School, 2761 Cloverbank Road, where it plans to adopt the 2015-16 budget.

• The Hamburg Central School Board will meet Tuesday in executive session at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, followed by a regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. when it plans to adopt its 2015-16 budget in Armor Elementary School, 5301 Abbott Road.
