Two women told Northeast District police Saturday night that their vehicles were struck by gunfire on Freund Street.
One of the drivers, who lives about two blocks away, said she saw an exchange of shots between the occupants of a dark-colored four-door sport utility vehicle and some men walking down the street. One bullet struck the trunk of her car, and a Williamsville woman reported that her vehicle was struck by three shots. Police found five shell casings on the sidewalk.
In another report of East Side gunfire, Northeast District officers said they recovered 11 9-millimeter shell casings after shots were fired shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday from a silver Chrysler 300 sedan at some men playing basketball at a home on Suffolk Street.
No one was hurt in either incident.
