North Tonawanda plans waste dropoff Saturday

NORTH TONAWANDA – Mayor Arthur G. Pappas announced that the city will offer a drop-off day for household hazardous waste and electronic waste from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Department of Public Works garage, 758 Erie Ave.

However, residents who want to participate must schedule an appointment at www.rethinkyourwaste.com or by calling the Niagara County environmental office at 439-7250.

According to Dawn M. Timm, county environmental coordinator, in the past two years the city drop-off days have totaled more than 950 cars passing through, depositing more than 42,000 pounds of household chemicals and 35,000 pounds of electronics.
