Alternative Buffalo’s Kerfuffle, the day-long concert event that debuted last summer with a sold-out show, returns this year with a new lineup of up-and-coming alt-rock acts and seasoned veterans.
Airborne Toxic Event, Cake, Civil Twilight, Cold War Kids, The Gaslight Anthem, In the Valley Below, The Mowgli’s, New Politics and Saint Motel will be on hand for Kerfuffle on July 25 at Canalside. The winner of the local band showcase, “The Artvoice Boom Competition,” will open the show. Gates open at 1:30 p.m. with the show starting at 1:45 p.m.

“Our mission is to bring great artists to Buffalo, both old favorites and the stars of the future,” Nik Rivers, program director for Alternative Buffalo 107.7, said in a press release. “We feel that this year’s lineup is a diverse mixture of acts that can’t be beat for the price of the ticket, and has something for all fans of live music to enjoy.”
Last year’s festival brought more than 10,000 people to Canalside.
“It was awesome. It was fun. It was almost exhilarating,” News Contributing Reviewer Ben Siegel wrote about the show.
