Workshops scheduled for aspiring young artists

Young Audiences of Western New York will hold four workshops next week to help Buffalo high school students apply for ArtWorks, its new paid summer apprenticeship program in the arts.

Workshops will be held at noon Monday in the SUNY Buffalo State Community Academic Center, 214 Grant St.; at noon Tuesday in the Pratt Willert Community Center, 422 Pratt St.; at noon April 10 in the Edward Saunders Community Center, 2777 Bailey Ave.; and at 10 a.m. April 11 in the Central Library on Lafayette Square.

Young Audiences will hire student apprentices to work in teams for six weeks this summer under master teaching artists in the visual arts, creative writing, dance and theater. Deadline for applications is May 1. For information, visit yawny.org.
