Police agencies in Niagara County crack down on DWI

Increased patrol units from agencies across Niagara County participated in the recent St. Patrick’s Day DWI Crackdown on March 13 - 18, according to a press release on Tuesday.

During the crackdown the patrols were specifically designated for drunken driving enforcement and charged 15 people with DWI. These extra patrols also had an additional 58 arrests and issued about 350 traffic tickets.

Participating agencies included: the Niagara County Sheriff Department; Niagara Falls, North Tonawanda, Lockport, Middleport, Lewiston, Town of Niagara and Somerset police departments; and New York State Park Police.
