DUNKIRK – Six adults and one child were provided with emergency housing by the Red Cross after fire severely damaged their house Monday afternoon at 209 Lakeshore Drive East.
Fire Chief Michael Edwards said the fire call came in at 1:56 p.m. and when crews arrived smoke was coming from the attic and fire was seen on the second floor. All residents escaped the house without injury. The Fredonia Fire Department assisted at the scene. Dunkirk and Chautauqua County fire investigators still were searching for the cause of the fire on Tuesday. No estimate of the loss was disclosed.
