PORTER – Niagara County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on a traffic violation at 11:25 a.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of Creek Road and found a Niagara Falls couple in possession of bags of marijuana, marijuana blunts, ecigarettes with liquid marijuana and suspected purified marijuna.
Ronald A. Hawes, 51, of Ferry Avenue was stopped for failing to signal as he left the roadway and was found to be in violation of a conditional license. He was additionally charged with unlawful possession of marijuana after a deputy found an ecigarette with purified liquid marijuna.
His passenger, Dierdra A. Hopkins, 48, of 21st Street, was found with three plastic bags of marijuana in her purse, a glass marijuana smoking bowl, and a white pill. She was additionally found with two white envelopes, one with brown rock-type substance and another a brown tacky substance. Both are suspected to be purified marijuana.
She was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana, and having a controlled substance outside of an original container. Further charges are pending based on the results of drug testing.
