NLL trade deadline approaches

The two teams chasing the Buffalo Bandits for a playoff spot in the National Lacrosse League East Division completed a swap of team captains on Monday, only hours before the league’s trading deadline.

Minnesota sent transition player Andrew Suitor to New England. In return, the Black Wolves sent transition player Joel White and a second-round pick in the 2017 NLL draft to the Swarm.

Suitor, 25, has spent almost five seasons with the Swarm. He was selected as the NLL Transition Player of the Year in 2012. White, 25, is in his fourth year in the NLL. He started his career in Rochester in 2011.

The players will waste no time facing their old teammates. Minnesota will host New England on Friday.

The trading deadline is Tuesday at 3 p.m.
