LOCKPORT – A man who allegedly robbed a City of Lockport gas station at knifepoint Jan. 10 was arraigned on a two-count indictment Monday.
David P. Smith, 40, of no permanent address, pleaded not guilty to first-degree robbery and resisting arrest, the latter count stemming from a struggle with police who apprehended him Jan. 18.
The hold-up occurred at the Sunoco station at South Transit and High streets in Lockport. Smith is being held in the County Jail as a second-time parole violator. He was most recently released from state prison Nov. 14, according to the prison website. He was sentenced in 2007 to five years for second-degree burglary after burglarizing homes in Lockport and Newfane.
