Falls man charged with mugging, robbery

LOCKPORT – Jonathan P. Easterly, 23, of 61st Street, Niagara Falls, pleaded not guilty Monday in Niagara County Court to an indictment accusing him and another man of mugging a victim in the parking lot of a convenience store in the LaSalle section of the Falls.

Easterly is charged with two counts of second-degree robbery and one count of third-degree assault in the alleged Sept. 27 attack on a Youngstown man outside a 7-Eleven store at Buffalo Avenue and 68th Street, Assistant District Attorney Kevin D. Canali said. Also indicted but not yet arraigned is Andre Sanders, 25, of Linwood Avenue in the Falls.

Sanders is supposed to have held the victim down and choked him while Easterly allegedly stole about $160 and a cellphone.
