Letter: Region cannot afford new stadium for Bills

Region cannot afford new stadium for Bills

Let me start by saying that I’m a huge Buffalo Bills fan. I was brought up with the Bills my whole life. My Dad also was a huge fan, rooting for the team since it started. Our whole family loves the Bills, and definitely wants them to stay in Buffalo.

But I don’t think we should build a new stadium. The one we have is more than sufficient, with millions of dollars of renovations recently put into it. I haven’t seen it, but I have heard it is beautiful.

The fact is, Buffalo is the third-poorest city in the nation. Instead of pouring hundreds of millions of dollars into a new stadium, which we don’t need, we should be using that money to help those in need in the area. People who are homeless, poor, elderly, disabled and others in need could be helped tremendously.
