Majority of students did not join protest

The students in Lancaster protesting about the mascot seemed to be enjoying the sunshine and getting out of school classes, and it looked like they had fun with the media attention and the police and fire department on standby. Does it make sense to protest after the decision is made?

From my experience, students from other schools seemed uncomfortable that Lancaster had the “Redskins” mascot. The quiet majority – 90 percent of the student body – demonstrated by staying in school. This change of the mascot should have been made years ago.
