NUGENT, Kenneth J.
NUGENT - Kenneth J. March 18, 2015, after a two month faith filled and courageous battle with cancer. Kenny was born on February 21, 1954, the son of the late Donald J. and Carmen M (LaLonde) Nugent. He attended local schools and in 1972 graduated from Bishop Duffy High School. Kenny was an avid musician that started his first band (the Pied Piper) in sixth grade while a student at 79th Street School. Over the past 40 years, he has played in many bands including, Payne, Spectrum, Ten Below, Judgment, Solid Ground, Messenger, The Fog, Bad Apple and most recently the Ken Nugent Band, West of the Mark, JB Aaron and Trouble, The Fog II and Trouble. While a member of West of the Mark, he opened for many nationally known acts including, Gretchen Wilson, Trace Atkins, Confederate Railroad, Oak Ridge Boys, Josh Turner, Big and Rich, Jason Michael Carroll, Luke Bryan, Lee Brice, Frankie Ballard, Jack Ingram, Glorianna, Chris Cagel and Josh Gracin. Kenny's love of music equaled his love of people. His infectious smile and sense of humor, courage and deep faith, will be remembered fondly by all who knew him. Kenny is survived by his loving wife Susan (Weaver) Nugent, his son Demetrius, daughter Heather (Chris) Smith, step-sons Matthew Pacillo of Lackawanna and Daniel Fullone of Niagara Falls, six grandchildren, his brothers, Donald J. (Lee Anne) Nugent Jr. of Depew, NY, Timothy Nugent of West Melbourne, Fl., Robert (Lorrie) Nugent and his sister Constance (late Larry) Andreini both of Niagara Falls, Betty (late Lee), Weaver, mother-in-law of Lackawanna, NY and many wonderful nieces and nephews whom he adored. There will be no prior visitation. A Memorial Mass celebrating his life will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at St. John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue at 6 PM.
