Handgun stolen from auto of jail employee

A handgun was stolen from the auto of an Erie County jail employee in downtown Buffalo, the employee told police.

The .40-caliber Glock was taken when a thief smashed the window on the Nissan and then wrenched open the glove box some time Wednesday, according to a police report. The auto was parked in the 200 block of West Genesee Street.
