Wales man injures himself after being arrested for DWI

A 43-year-old Wales man suffered facial injuries when he repeatedly smashed his head into the plexiglas partition of a patrol car after he was arrested early Friday for driving while intoxicated, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office reported.

Stephen Glor was stopped on Big Tree Road in Wales and charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and obstructing governmental administration in addition to driving while intoxicated. He was being held at the Erie County Holding Center Friday evening .

Sheriff’s deputies found in his vehicle off Big Tree Road very early Friday morning. Glor refused to submit to sobriety tests and became combative, slightly injuring a deputy as he was forced into the back seat of the patrol car before he allegedly began to smash his head on the partition.
